Faculty members of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Barış Alpaslan and Assistant Professor Ayşenur Karakaş Aydınbakar, conducted a joint research project with Japanese researchers and a doctoral student during their appointment as visiting faculty members at Tohoku University in Japan between July 4 and August 1, 2024. Utilizing the extensive data resources provided by the university, they carried out research on the Japanese family structure, intra-household division of labor, the labor market, and the factors affecting the distribution of resources within the family.

During this period, they obtained the initial findings of the research, identified areas requiring further development, and engaged in mutual exchange of ideas to evaluate ways to improve these aspects.
