The Project for Supporting Registered Female Employment (Women-Up 2) was launched with the aim of promoting registered female employment, increasing women’s participation in the labor force, and enhancing the resilience of women entrepreneurs in a competitive environment.
Co-financed by the European Union, the project started on May 17, 2021, and is being implemented in two phases over a total period of 55 months. The project is scheduled to be completed on November 7, 2025.
Within this scope, more than 40 students from our university participated in an event held on October 18–19 at the Ankara Grand Mercure Hotel. The event aimed to raise significant awareness of women’s entrepreneurship by providing participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge.
During the two-day event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halis KIRAL delivered a training titled “Entrepreneurship and Risk Management in Entrepreneurship.” Following the training, our students carried out various group activities on the themes of entrepreneurship and risk management in line with the knowledge they acquired.
Approximately 100 students from Ankara Social Sciences University, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Hacı Bayram Veli University, and Hacettepe University formed 11 different teams, conducted interactive brainstorming sessions, and developed innovative entrepreneurial ideas. Our students successfully completed these projects and contributed to their personal and professional development by receiving feedback from experts in the field.
The team named “KADINDAN,” composed of students from our university, achieved first place by receiving the highest score among the 11 teams.
This experience provided our students with significant gains in entrepreneurship, leadership, and the empowerment of women in the business world, offering them an important step forward in their career journeys. In addition to equipping participants with new skills, the project also contributed to increasing social awareness of women’s entrepreneurship and employment.
As Ankara Social Sciences University, we take great pride in being a part of this important project and remain firmly committed to continuing our efforts to increase women’s participation in the workforce and strengthen their position within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
