On Monday, June 5, 2023, the “Our Democracy and Adnan Menderes Panel on the 100th Anniversary of Our Republic” was held at Güvercinlik Hall, organized by the ASBÜ Faculty of Political Sciences and the Ahmet Özsoy Center for Democracy Studies, Research and Application (ASBÜDEM).

The panel program began with opening remarks by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım Arıcan. Following his speech, the panel session was conducted under the chairmanship of ASBÜDEM Director, Lecturer Dr. Gazi Doğan.

At the panel, author Ercan Yıldırım delivered a talk titled “Turkey’s Political Order from 1071 to 2023 and the May 14 Elections,” D. Mehmet Doğan, Honorary President of the Turkish Writers’ Union (TYB), spoke on “The Transition from the Single-Party Period to Democracy,” and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akif Kireçci, Dean of the ASBÜ Faculty of Political Sciences, presented a talk titled “The 1950s in the Context of Our Democratic History.”
